McLeod Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our Family Medicine Residency Program. This unique role blends clinical practice with academic responsibilities, offering the opportunity to shape the next generation of family physicians while providing direct mental health care to patients. The ideal candidate will be passionate about integrated behavioral health, resident physician education, and community-focused care.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development & Teaching
o Design, implement, and evaluate an integrated behavioral health curriculum for family medicine residents.
o Prepare and deliver didactic lectures and longitudinal educational experiences tailored to the needs of the communities served.
o Develop resident evaluation tools and wellness curriculum in alignment with ACGME guidelines.
o Serve as Faculty Advisor to residents as assigned.
Clinical Services
o Provide psychotherapy and behavioral health services to patients within residency clinical sites.
o Maintain a private patient panel for mental health care, supporting access to behavioral health in the community.
Program Support & Administration
o Contribute to residency program planning, development, and accreditation efforts.
o Participate in resident and faculty recruitment activities.
o Engage in program administration, evaluation, mentoring, precepting, and scholarly activities.
Scholarly & Professional Development
o Complete scholarly activities consistent with an academic faculty role.
o Support and encourage resident and faculty participation in research and scholarly work.
o Assist in the development and maintenance of program policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Licensed to practice psychology in South Carolina.
- Experience in medical education or working within residency programs preferred.
- Strong commitment to integrated care, resident education, and community health.
